Nunu`s Cocktail Lounge in San Diego

Nunu's is a "Cheers" kind of experience. Very friendly, and great variety of patrons. Low key most of the time, not full of 21 year-old "look at me I get to drink now!" types. Good, strong drinks. (I may have even asked the bartender for more soda a couple of times, just to kill the fire....but honestly I don't remember much...lol)

Very good prices, very good food. Even though they were super busy and understaffed they managed to get our group order correct the first time and food came out fast! Couldnt expect more. Keep up the good work nunus!

Nunu's means grandpa in Portuguese. Just a little trivia fact about this 60 plus year old neighborhood dive bar. Fun place dark inside has a somewhat outside smoking area. Pretty good burgers generally somewhat late night food and friendly fun bartenders. Trivia on Thursday nights is fun. This place welcomes all who seek good drink and fun

Excellent bar that we've always loved. First time back since new ownership and it's better than ever. Food was excellent thanks to Joe the chef, drinks were very well made by Michael the bartender and you can't beat the price! A must go-to!

Awesome place, just the bartenders need to work on that "moddie" face and attitude. They don't like people the need to be BOH washing dishes

Great friendly bar with a little bit of a lounge feel. Booths of you want or bar seating. Even a smoking area you can bring your drink out. Great bar food.

I was brought in by a friend and boy was I grateful, love the Korean wings and the nunu burger is one of the few burgers I dont have to add or mess with. Finger licking good.

Stiff drinks, nice little back patio, and well-sized booths. Nice for a quick drink before a night out or hanging out with some friends. Normally approachable crowd. Have had many memorable nights here, for sure.

On the divey side of things, but I do enjoy coming here. The food is here is greasy but tasty and the drinks are generally generous :)

One of the best old school dive bars in San Diego. Dark? Yes. Cozy? Yes. Red leather booths and seats? Yes. Great prices in drinks. Absolutely. They also have really great food, served out of a tiny back kitchen.

My neighborhood favorite. Jeremiah and Mike are rad dudes.

Great staff, interesting clientele & a great atmosphere

I love Nunus! Their drinks are stiff and decent pricing. The place recently changed ownership and got some windows and cleaned up a bit. The food doesn’t taste as good anymore- like the burgers- it was too bland. No longer a good burger place. I do like the drinks and bartenders. They’re pretty cool. At least the fries were still good. Glad they didn’t change that.

Awesome food and service, you can actually have a conversation and not have to yell over the music playing. Also void of annoying 21 year olds who just started drinking.

This is a great neighborhood dive bar. They have excellent, greasy bar food, cheap drinks, and friendly service. I've spent a lot of good nights in one of these red booths!

A San Diego dive bar institution, strong drinks, late night burgers and awesome staff

This place is beautifully decorated and dimly lit. It was very packed when I went around 7pm Thursday. Its seemed to packed on every floor but the was space at the bar for 5 on the third floor. The drinks are expertly made, delicious and powerful. The kitchen was not 100%up and running due to a fire but there was a cold menu. I definitely would like to return when in the area.

It is good but not as the "old" Nunus...

Sarah and Augustina are worth a visit to this place! The cocktails are all delicious - there's not a bad one in the bunch. The ambience is cool yet unpretentious and it feels like an awesome neighborhood haunt with a new spin on cocktails. Personal faves are the Kentucky Bramble and the Category Five.

The best dive bar with so much character and great bartenders/all around service. The simple diner style food here is ultimate drunk munchies food and it's cheap! Patty melts, ribs, wings and fries-you really cant go wrong. Also an outdoor covered smoking patio that is nice to have in San Diego with so many bars and restaurants that don't have smoking areas.

Great local spot with excellent prices and the right amount of "Diveyness". Pro Tip: amazing food.

Rubén is the best bartender! It was my first time here and even though the place was Uber crowded he remembered my order for my 2nd round. The people are fun and the bathrooms are clean. And holy sh!t $8 for a stiff drink is great!

Our friendly bartender who worked there for 25 years & another long time patron from the late 60's whose name was Antonio? w/ a black beret cap told us that the Frolic Room served as a hidden speak easy bar which had a hidden entrance in the women's restroom of the Pantages.

Nunus has a vibe that is unlike many of the bars in San Diego. You can tell that most of the people that go there are regulars as the bartenders tend to focus on them. Once you are served and make nice with the team they are a little more accommodating. The ambiance is one I prefer. It is dimly lit with a nice red glow and has a great dive bar appeal that is fun. I will go back

200% great, not just 100. Great classic cocktails and a dark leathery seat atmosphere. Haven't been here for 10 years...I was missing out. If you like a martini, old fashioned, Manhattan, etc, do it.
